As global demand for palm oil continues to rise and the palm oil industry remains one of Indonesia’s largest foreign exchange contributors, the Indonesian government has been reinforcing palm oil plantation governance through various regulations. These include Law No. 6 of 2023 on Job Creation, Government Regulation No. 5 of 2021 on Risk-Based Licensing, Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 15 of 2021, and other policies. These regulations ensure that plantation management aligns with sustainability principles, from an integrated licensing process through OSS to risk-based supervision supporting industry players.

To deepen the understanding of these policy implementations, Bomba Talk hosted a discussion featuring Mr. Togu Rudianto Saragih, S.H., M.H. (Head of Palm Oil Cultivation Group, Directorate General of Plantations, and Legislative Drafter at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia). He shared strategic insights on how regulations support business productivity while ensuring environmental sustainability.

The event, held on December, 2024, was also attended by Mr. Sufriedi (Director of Bomba Grup), Mr. Noly Hendry (CEO of Subholding Agro Industri Bomba Grup), and Ms. Selpina Sembiring (Legal & GovRel Division Head of Bomba Grup), along with Bomba Grup employees from headquarters and site locations, both in-person and online.

Through this Bomba Talk, Subholding Agro Industri Bomba Grup aims to prioritize sustainable plantation governance as a strategic step toward a better future.
